STATEMENT FROM THE SGPS EXECUTIVE

For Immediate Release:
November 23, 2016

KINGSTON, ON – Last night, the SGPS Executive was informed of a party where Queen’s students allegedly clothed themselves in culturally insensitive costumes. The SGPS promotes an inclusive environment for all students and seeks to encourage and educate on issues of equity.

This represents an opportunity to come together as a community and have an open dialogue. We look forward to working with our university partners and stakeholders to create a better, more inclusive Queen’s community.

We would direct members affected by this issue to the SGPS website to review our various support resources.

“Once again Fort Henry will turn dark during the fall season as ghosts, ghouls, zombies and more take over the fort’s garrison. Get ready for the interior ditch, dark hallways and tunnels to be filled with live scare actors out to test your goose bumps’ reaction. All new terrifying animatronics and special effects are sure to raise some screams.”

This is not an event for children. Participants must be 18+ to get on the bus!! Much of this event will be outside—be sure to dress appropriately.

Bus will meet us at the JDUC at 630 pm and pick us up at 9 pm from Fort Fright.

See you there!
