SGPS Statement of Solidarity with PSAC 901

The SGPS stands in solidarity with PSAC 901 as they advocate for fair wages and improved working conditions. We encourage faculty and community members who wish to support PSAC 901 to consider donating to their strike fund.

We also remind all members of the Queen’s community to respect the picket lines, both in-person and virtual. We strongly encourage everyone to review PSAC 901’s picket line protocols to understand expectations and best practices for engagement during this time.

While we encourage you to minimize “crossing the line” to show solidarity, please bear in mind that not all graduate students are PSAC 901 members, and some may have non-labour-related commitments requiring them to be on campus. We encourage mutual understanding and respect during this time. Additionally, there are important safety considerations—if union members responsible for lab safety are not working, it may not be safe to enter these spaces, even if you are not a striking union member and have non-labour-related commitments on campus. Please assess the situation carefully and prioritize safety at all times.
