Mental Health Resources [Updated April 2023]

The end of the semester can be a difficult time. Here are some resources that can provide support. For a Life-Threatening Emergency, call 911. Addiction and Mental health Services – KFLA Offers mental health support in the way of case management, group treatment and support, crisis support individual counselling, and intensive support. Empower Me Offers crisis and short term supportive counselling related to relationships, family care, depression, anxiety, addictions, stress, work conflicts and much more. Free of charge. Get-A-Head Get A-Head is an online platform that provides confidential mental health counselling and support to students at colleges and universities across Ontario at no cost. The Get A-Head platform connects students in need of mental health support with a diverse range of service providers, right from their smartphone through secure text, audio, and video sessions. It allows students to speak to a counsellor virtually, whenever they need to, wherever they are. Good2Talk A free, confidential support service for post-secondary students in Ontario. Good2Talk can support students through a wide range of issues that may be impacting their mental health and well-being, including: depression, anxiety, substance abuse, academic stress, personal or family relationships, loneliness, financial concerns and other challenges facing students. Student Wellness Services Students who require urgent help will be triaged and connected with our crisis counsellor and/or be connected to community crisis support.  We take mental health crises very seriously and understand that timely care is of utmost importance. Student Wellness Services will be closed from Friday, December 23, 2022, until Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Therapy Assistance Online (TAO) While some contact may be undergraduate focused, there is a Grad Student Re-charge group that includes modules on imposter syndrome, burnout and overcoming perfectionism Wellness Together Canada Available to any anyone living in Canada, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 1-866-585-0445 to connect with a counsellor or text WELLNESS to 741741 to connect with a trained volunteer crisis responder.
