The SGPS is pleased to offer a Family-Friendly version of the 1000 Islands Boat Cruise, new for the 2018-19 Orientation Week! The Kingston’s Discovery Cruise held from 4:30-6:30pm introduces the unique sights and heritage of the 1000 Islands region and the historic waterfront of Canada’s First Capital. The cruise passes close to National Park Islands and National Historic Sites, and includes a lively narration of Kingston’s history and natural setting!
The focus of this cruise is on the history and waterfront of the city of Kingston, and its place at the beginning of the St Lawrence River and the 1000 Islands region. Kingston is a UNESCO World Heritage Destination for its remarkable and well-preserved 19th-century defense fortifications.
The Discovery Cruise highlights the beautiful westerly Islands local to Kingston’s harbour as well as Fort Henry, shipwrecks, classical architecture, Canada’s Royal Military College and the imposing Kingston Penitentiary.
