Join the SGPS on the opening weekend of Winterlude in Ottawa! Skate on the world’s largest rink, watch ice carving competitions, or play in a huge winter playground. Explore more of Ottawa like the Byward Market or Parliament. Tickets are only $20!
10:30: Dropped off by Parliament (explore the grounds)
11:30: Walk (<10 min) to Confederation Park (Winterlude, short distance from Sparks St (Downtown Ottawa) and ByWard Market, access to Rideau Canal)
12:00-4: Free time
4:00: Reconvene at Parliament Hill, in front of the Centennial Flame
4:30: Board bus back to Kingston
The Winterlude festival has many free activities like skating on the Rideau Canal, snow tubing in Snowflake Kingdom in Jacques-Cartier Park, and more! Some activities may incur additional costs (e.g. skate rental is about $17/hour or ziplining for $10 per ride) which are not covered in your ticket purchase. There is a free OLG Sno-Bus that links official Winterlude destinations in both Ottawa and Gatineau.
Lunch is not provided. Bring water and the snacks you’ll need!
Meet us in front of the JDUC building at 8AM on Saturday February 2nd to sign a waiver before we head out. We’ll be leaving Ottawa by 4:30PM. If you have any questions or comments regarding this event, you can contact Beatrice at firstname.lastname@example.org.
