Before You Opt Out of the SGPS Health and Dental Plan

Please read this information carefully before choosing to opt out.

1. If you are covered under your parent’s plan

• You may lose your parent’s coverage when you reach a certain age.
• If that happens, you may not be able to join the SGPS Health and Dental Plan later.
• Ask your parent’s insurance company when your coverage will end.

2. If you have another health or dental plan

• You may be able to use both plans together.
• This can help cover more of your health and dental costs, sometimes up to 100%.

3. If you will travel or study abroad

• The SGPS Health and Dental Plan includes travel insurance.
• If you opt out of the plan, you will not have this travel insurance through SGPS.

Important

If the insurance company says they cannot find you in their system, complete the provisional opt-out form on their website.

Do You Need to Join the SGPS Health and Dental Plan?

First, check your SOLUS account.

If you see a charge called “SGPS Health and Dental Plan,” you are already enrolled.

✅ You do not need to do anything else.

If you want to join the SGPS Health and Dental Plan for yourself or your family members (dependents):

⚠️ You must already have UHIP coverage for every person you want to enrol.
