Come join us on May 10th from 5:30-6:30pm for a group run or walk. There will be a 3k option and a 7k option available. All running and walking levels are welcome to attend! Meet at the SGPS office in the JDUC at 5:30pm. After the run event we'll be heading to the Grad Club, so don't forget ID and money if you'd like to join. You must register prior to attending the event. Do so quickly before spaces fill up! The event will run rain or shine; however in the case of thunderstorms or rainfall warnings the event will be cancelled and participants will be notified by Facebook and email 8 hours in advance. **This is a 19+ event. By registering for this event you declare your intentions to participate in the above listed activity/activities at your own understanding and risk. You specifically release on behalf of yourself, your heirs, personal representatives and next of kin, and hold harmless the Society of Graduate and Professional Students at Queen's University, its employees and volunteers from any responsibility regarding any loss or damage that you might suffer during your participation in these activities. You also agree to indemnify and hold the Society of Graduate and Professional Students at Queen's University harmless from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including attorney's fees brought as a result of your involvement in the above activity/activities and to reimburse them for any such expenses incurred.

Rock Dunder Fall Hike

Check out the changing of the fall leaves at one of the most instagrammable spots within an hour drive from Kingston! Rock Dunder is a conservation area north of Kingston known for its spectacular panoramic views! Come join us on Saturday, October 13th for a hike to the top. Bring something to eat at the peak! The bus will leave from campus by the JDUC at 10am and the bus home will pick us up from Rock Dunder at 4pm (it’s about 40 minutes from there back to Kingston). To reserve your spot, please purchase your ticket below at the discounted rate of 10$/ticket (this includes bus and entrance into Rock Dunder)! Space is limited so buy now! Remember to bring comfortable shoes and clothes for hiking. SGPS Ski Trip

  Join us for our biggest event all year and get your ski on with the SGPS! All levels welcome! We’re going away on a weekend trip to Calabogie Peaks Ski Resort from March 2-3. Tickets are $125 which includes transportation, accomodation, and equipment rentals - this is a deal you can't get anywhere else! See details below: Itinerary: Saturday, March 2 4:00PM: Bus leaves Kingston from JDUC 6:30PM: Arrive at Calabogie Peaks Hotel and check in, settle into rooms 7:00PM: Dinner: those who want to join the group at the pub, Black Donald’s, are welcome --- Sunday, March 3 8:00AM: Students clear out of room and bring their luggage to a storage locker (check out by 11AM) 8:30AM: Adventure Centre opens for students to pick up their rentals 9:00AM: Mountain open to ski 4:00PM: Mountain closes, students return rentals, get prepared to leave 5:00PM: Leave Calabogie Peaks for Kingston 7:30PM: Arrive in Kingston, at JDUC   Accommodations: We’re staying at Calabogie Peaks Hotel. Each room has two beds (either two Queen sized beds or a King bed and pull-out couch). There will be two people to a bed for a total of four people per room. Students will be asked to provide their roommate preferences. The hotel has a gym, restaurant, pool, and outdoor hot tub. So bring your bathing suits!   Dining: No food is included in the cost of the ticket. Bring snacks and water as needed. There are many dining options at the resort: https://www.calabogie.com/dining/pubs-cafes/. Please note that you cannot charge food to your hotel room.   Skiing: The ticket includes ski/snowboard rentals, a lift ticket and 1 hr lesson. Ski rentals include skis, boots, poles, and a helmet. Snowboard rentals include board, boots, and helmet. Rentals do NOT include clothing (jackets, pants), gloves, nor goggles. Students will be asked to provide some measurements and information beforehand to the rental centre. Please note, you must be a SGPS member in order to attend this event.
